PSA: Summerstage of Delafield’s 2026 season starts June 11th!

I have been aware of Summerstage of Delafield for a few seasons but have never made the opportunity to check it out. But when this reached my mailbox a few days ago, I have to find a spot in my summer to fit one or more of these plays in! From Summerstage:

Summerstage of Delafield’s 2026 season starts next Thursday, June 11th with THE SWEET DELILAH SWIM CLUB. This production will be followed by THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR, BECKY’S NEW CAR, and the world-premiere musical DOOR’S OPEN! In addition to the theatrical productions, there will be a one night only John Williams tribute concert on August 4th.

We would love to spread the word about our beautiful outdoor venue and invite audiences to try “tailgating theater” by bringing their friends and family to have a pre-show picnic.

Celebrating Our Sixth Anniversary!

And, my goodness, how did I get here? Yes it is our sixth anniversary. And I have gone farther than I ever anticipated when I created An Intuitive Perspective. This was just supposed to be a casual response to any variety of art experiences that I had as they occurred. And an outlet for my re-discovered joy in writing. But it has grown by leaps and bounds.

AIP has become more focused on theater than I would have expected. Obviously I love theater and my first efforts were covering the Milwaukee Repertory Theater as part of their late great Social Media Club. And then I added on my annual sojourns to American Players Theater during the summer.

But my good friend, actor and director Kimberly Laberge, asked me to cover Cabaret at the Lake Country Playhouse that she was directing. She loved it and LCP loved it and now LCP is one of my favorite area theater venues and I don’t ever want to miss one of their shows. And then Laberge recommended me to a number of other local stages and now I cover 11 Milwaukee area theater groups plus American Players. So this little retirement avocation is now nearly a full time job! I would like to thank all of the theater groups that have put their trust in me and provide support and the great photos that I get to share in my reviews. That is much appreciated.

But I have gotten away from the other arts and going into our seventh year, I will try to rectify that a bit. One area that I really need to improve on is my intended series, A Place For A Muse, that is meant to just talk about any and all art museums and their permanent collections and their ambience and feel and whatever. So far I have only written two of those. There will be more in 2026 – 2027.

And it is the first day of spring, so, at the suggestion of my lovely wife, artist Rosalie Beck, please enjoy Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring:

P. S. Yes, I intentionally picked March 20th for my start date, once I was ready to publish.
